Last week, we were kindly invited to sample the newest menu at Six by Nico. Titled ‘Guilty Pleasures’, we didn’t need to ask anything about the menu before accepting – clearly, this was going to be an indulgent meal to excite the tastebuds.
As a regular at the restaurant, we were keen to see what the six-course tasting menu had in store. After I hurriedly secured a babysitter, I headed up to the Hanover Street restaurant to be greeted by a team of friendly and knowledgable staff. In honour of some of our drunken food choices and favourite junk food, the Guilty Pleasures menu was packed full of some of my personal favourites; chippie chips and krispy fried chicken, served the Nico way.
From watching endless episodes of your favourite reality TV shows to enjoying a never-ending bowl of cereal for dinner or singing along to cheesy pop anthems, we all have those secret guilty pleasures that we’re not too quick to share… However, here at Six by Nico, we invite you to embrace those indulgences with reckless abandon as we serve up our latest six-course tasting menu. Inspired by some of our favourite flavours from fried chicken and chip shop fish to Nutella, our upcoming tasting menu is bound to satisfy those oh so guilty pleasures… – Nico Simone
The menu was varied and each course was quite delicious. Unfortunately, as with a lot of ‘junk’ food, the colours can be somewhat bland so they didn’t photograph wonderfully, but rest assured the tastes were exactly as you would hope. Crispy, salty, sharp and melt in the mouth – this menu had it all.
