Last week, we were invited to visit Hemingway’s, a brand-new bar and restaurant overlooking The Shore in our old stomping ground, Leith. (It replaces what you may remember as Giuliano’s.)

Last week, we were kindly invited to sample the newest menu at Six by Nico. Titled ‘Guilty Pleasures’, we didn’t need to ask anything about the menu before accepting – clearly, this was going to be an indulgent meal to excite the tastebuds.

First opened as a drinks merchant in 1896 before becoming a pub, The Barony is a firm fixture on recommendation lists for Scotland’s Capital and a favourite of Edinburgh locals.

Oh Hawksmoor, oh Hawksmoor. you have stolen our heart with your new lunch menu. In the interest of thoroughness, my husband dined on potted beef & bacon with Yorkshires, while I enjoyed the light and seasonal spring herb salad, goat’s curd, radishes, sourdough crisp. (I had BIG plans for my main…)
